Torrevieja is one of Spains most famous cities with it´s saltwater lagoons. The shore line is full with bays and sharp rocks, it is a spectacular area.

Torrevieja is famous for the two huge saltwater lagoons which surround it. These "Salterns of Torrevieja" are the largest in Europe. The lagoons have been designated as national parks and are an impressive sight, attracting more than 250 bird species including flamingoes.

The beaches are top of the line and the nature absolute unique. The big marine holds about 1500 boats and is guarded by the watch tower La Mata.

Torrevieja is a vivid city full with restaurants and coffe shops. Visit in August and you'll be able to enjoy the weeklong "Habaneras" festival - a major international music competition. Las Habaneras are a celebration of the Latin American music and rhythms brought to Torrevieja in the 19th century through the port's salt-trading links with Cuba.

The area is famous for all the golf courses, there is about 20 to choose between and they have all high standard. The area is also famous for mountain climbing, water activities and tennis. If you are travelling with chldren a visit to Aqualandia is recommended, it is one of the biggest waterpark in Europe.
